Most designers experience this when they first begin working in the industry. We have great dreams and goals. We strongly believe that we deserve these opportunities. We are designers! The world wants our creative ideas! I know because I too faced that. But with time, I found out what's even more thrilling than the big, interesting projects and passionate audiences. I would rather refer to it as "Boring Design" which represents very creative ideas and projects.
We are surrounded by a variety of digital gadgets and applications in today's age of technology that are designed to make our lives more convenient and entertaining. We have a wide range of programs that can keep us connected, organized, and productive, ranging from flashy social media platforms to cutting-edge productivity tools.
Yet, more often than not - a boring tool that can effectively assist us in managing our daily tasks is what we require, not a fancy or flashy one. Although it may not seem exciting to design a boring application or system, doing so can be incredibly useful for enhancing how people handle their daily tasks. People's workload, stress management, and overall well-being can all be enhanced by a boring app.
Here are some reasons why designing a boring system or app can be more beneficial than a cool or flashy one.
Simplicity is the key
The fact that a boring system or software can be extremely simple is one of its key benefits. Sometimes, we are inundated with complex programs that are filled with so many features that we aren't even sure where to begin. On the other hand, a boring app can be designed to be quite basic and have only the features that users need to perform their everyday tasks. Due to its simplicity and low learning curve, this app is user-friendly and accessible to everyone.

On the contrary, a simple app can be significantly more accessible and simpler to use for everyone to use if it has large fonts, clear instructions, and easy-to-navigate menus.
